Not a Tegu but still a beautiful lizard

This little one lives right off our landing zone where all our medivac helicopters land. The noise does not seem to bother him as much as it does us. I thought you all might enjoy this shot. He will not let me get to within about 4 feet of him though. They are everywhere over here. I see them all the time.

I've been debating on whether or not to reply, but is that a Uro? What kind of reptile is it?

I believe it is a uro. It sure looks like the ones I have seen and handled in the past. It has the same body features, head shape everything. I have tried looking up native lizards to Iraq on the net and really have had poor luck. But these guys are all over where I am at. Take care and have a good day.
