What kind of ctenosaura (enyaliosaurus?) is this ?

Mark M Jul 31, 2004 12:36 AM

With the club-tails, the only way to be 100% sure about thier identity is to know where they were collected, or have about 50 specimens to get an average scale count and color. Most specimens for the pet trade are collected in Nicaragua which would make them "quinquecarinata". Oaxacana is found in southern Mexico, and no animals are legally collected in Mexico. Since the lizards in the photo have no yellow coloration, it is safe to assume that those are C.quinquecarinata.

Mine was supposedly collected in Honduras (or so they told me in the pet shop, but one can not 100% believe everything they tell you in the shop of course).
