Gravid dwarft, 26 days left

PAF Jul 31, 2004 06:20 AM

This is one of my 2 gravid Venezuelan BCI, only occuring on a small peninsula, nowhere else. They max. out at 5 feet, the male that mated them is at most 2.5 feet. These boas should be fed only every 2 month or so, if not they get obese very fast, a very interesting locality...

Very neat!

I have a few of those from a shipment last year and I agree totally about their slow growth. Let us see baby pictures when you can.

Little is know about these boas, very few people care about them, let alone breed them pure. This is the first year I will have babies of this locality, will let you know about their size. Both my females are 150cm long and won't get an inch longer, just obese if fed too often. Their natural habitat is extreme arid (lot's of cactus and parts of pure desert), so food is not very available. One of my females I got as a semi-adult 2.5 years ago, she must be now easily 5 years or more. They definitely are very low-maintenance!!
