when double clutching colubrids,is it recommended to induce a second cooling period between matings?thanks in advance for any replies.

Nope. Not necessary.

I don't double-clutch because it's too hard on the female in my opinion. I've done it in the past and the female looked pretty bad by the time she was done laying that second clutch.
