We've been waiting a long time for these babies and they are finally here and have had their first shed! I couldn't be more excited about these little ones. Their mom is my favorite (and I think the prettiest!) boa we own, and she was finally old enough and big enough to breed this year. Unfortunately, I've been working in Boston for the summer so I missed their birth, but my dad finally had time to send me some good pictures and I HAD to share! lol
Anyway, here are a few! They remind me of why we called them Lavender Albinos when we first got our trio as babies...their background color is a beautiful smoky lavender. As they grow, that color changes into a rich caramel color, and they get coral-like pinks and oranges and reds infused throughout their heads and bodies. Their tails and saddles also become a deeper reddish orange. That's why I love these guys...they're gorgeous as babies but they get even better as adults!!!
Here's the possible dad as a yearling. You can see how the color intensifies as they mature. This pic was taken indoors, in the sun coming through the window...
Here's a head shot of mom during breeding season...
A picture of mom copulating with one of our males/maybe the father...
Brace yourselves, guys, because I have a feeling I won't be able to control my picture posting with these little ones! lol I wish we could keep them all!!!!!
Thanks for looking!
