Okay well somewhere i read that females can get "grumpy" during breeding season does anyone have any experience with this is it THAT bad, like can you not even handle her then or am i completely off with this one?

all but one of my females right now are charging at me if i get too close. so yes it does happen. not always with all the females. some wont be affected by it some will. sometimes they will one spring/summer the next they'll be fine.
and a 4' charging tegu is a dangerous thing to deal with.
