sieverbells Jul 31, 2004 04:59 PM

ok here it goes i have an opurtunity to get a baby ball for nothing! Well it does have a problem it refuses to eat.
befor I get this baby I need to know if there is a possablity for this little one to survive. It will be given with no guarantee on survival but !!! I beleave it should at least have a chance to try. I seam to have good luck with the critters who they beleive will NOT make it. So seriously thinking on it.
Any tips or suggestion to help this little one to make it please let me know I have untill monday to make up my mind.

...depends on its nutritional status...has it EVER fed? If not it may need an immediate assist-feeding with a 7-day old fuzzy mouse. Make sure it's well-hydrated...give it a bath in 1/2" of Pedialyte right off...offer it a hot spot (belly heat preferred) of low-mid 90's. If it has very obvious "skin folds" in the last 1/3rd of its body then it needs a meal soon. If you are unfamiliar with assist-feeding BPs then seek outside help. Otherwise, try a live fuzzy mouse (10-14 days old) at night, if it still refuses: assist-feed. Make sure it has a secure hide spot and elevate the humidity to 60-70%.

Hope this helps and good luck!
