I think my lizard is sick

Turbo1 Jul 31, 2004 07:20 PM

Hi- my name is Jackie. I've had a collared for 3 years now, and he seems to not be well. He is hardly active anymore and is not interested in eating either. Nothing in his environment has changed. His eyes seem to have sand stuck to them- should i try to wipe it off? I'm just not sure what to do.

Thanks...
Jackie

When ever I hear their eyes are stuck shut, or watery or sandy in appearance,
I don't like to give any advice other than you can wash them with warm water, but I personally would call the Vet. It could be an eye infection.

I say that because other forum buddies have had their collareds this past spring and summer, with eye infections, and left untreated, they got worse. Sometimes they are linked with resporatory infections.

Is there any other symptoms other than his eyes? His breathing okay? Any sounds when he breaths? Are his eyes stuck shut, or gloopy with anything ?
Totally inactive and not eating at all?

Not trying to jump to any conclusion here to scare you, I just DON'T KNOW what could be wrong!

Sure hope he feels better real soon, Let us know how he does!
