Back a couple years ago when I kept anoles, 6 in a 100 gallon reptarium would still fight on occasion. I think that was caused by there being too many lizards trying to bask under the same light though. They calmed down considerably whenever I took the enclosure outside in partial sun.
As for mixing species, I've seen some nice setups that included anoles. One that comes to mind was a huge custom built enclosure that I wouldn't be surprised if it could hold 300 gallons. My 8th grade science teacher kept 4 green anoles, two white's tree frogs, a marbled gecko, 3-4 fire belly toads, and a few newts in it. A third of the tank was a shallow water area, with a stream setup running through the rest. Last I knew it was still up and running smoothly.
