rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters i can feed off by the hundreds and thousands and never feel a slight bit of grief over it..

guinea pigs however.. i have a real soft spot for those!

i went to make a weekly rodent delivery at a petshop.. and was strolling around while they unloaded the mice and rats, and happened to peak into their small animal section.. low and behold is a BIG brown pig.. i asked if i could hold him.. they said sure.. .. about 40 seconds later i was in love LOL

long story short he was going to be snake food.. and i couldnt let that happen! so.. hes my BIG little buddy

my sister had another resuce pig.. a female this time.. needless to say.. ive got MINI PIGS on the way! wooo LOL

the girl "oreo"

the girl "oreo"

the boy "lucky" LOL

to answer your question..

frozen deliver as much as nutrients as needed.. as long as they are freezer burned.. freezer burn = bad!

best of luck

Wish I could say my experience was good with guinea pigs. I had one for about a year... A white albino female... She woke me up every morning at 5 am because she wanted fed.. no matter if I'd given her fresh stuff right before I went to sleep at 2 am.. *laughs* Of course, I can't stand rabbits either... However, I adore my rats... even if I do use them for snake and monitor food. I have a male hooded who was bought to feed my snake.. well I fell in love with his personality. Named him Toby.. he lived for 3 years nice and healthy.. would probably still be alive if I hadn't had to move...the stress of the trip killed him.. *sighs* He used to sit on my shoulder and watch me type on the comp.. *L* I have another now I'm trying to work with but he's kinda flighty.. of course, I got Whisper as an adult already.. Toby was just weaned when I got him. I may take one out of my litters and raise it for a pet... not sure yet though...
