Xenopeltis unicolor

I'm not sure if this is a rat snake or even a colubrid, though I'm fairly sure it is. Any info on these guys? Where to find one?

Thanks!

There is a faq/care sheet here on kingsnake--it's fairly sketchy, but perhaps you could contact the authors? Sorry I can't help more. . .

Sunbeams are placed in Xenopeltidae which is a family in a group loosely called "primitive snakes". They are not a colubrid. They are found in China, the Malaysian Penninsula, and Indonesia.

They are burrowing snakes and are most often found in damp situations. They feed on frogs, other snakes and rodents. occasional specimens reach 4'.
