Once I could have given you lots of locations in Broward and Dade. Finding them in South Florida is difficult now (unless you go to the sugar cane fields and they do not like tresspassers).
Usually kings are encountered on Canal banks. Summer is a bad time to hunt as they go underground when it gets hot.
My best luck was allways from Nov-March right at dawn. At that time they are out sunning themselves and are more approachable.
