Daytona Bound?

RichH Aug 01, 2004 07:34 AM

Curious as to how many that post/read this forum plan on attending the Breeder's Expo. in Daytona this season? My wife and I are always there. We will be there Friday morning thru Monday spending most nites on the Adam's Mark pool deck chatting.

Already personally know many of you but there are quite a few forum regulars we have never met before. My cell will always be on...

I will be there. I will also be at pool side thur-friday and sat eve.

The funny thing is with some of the hateful bickering on here over the years I think we met we would realize that we all have a lot in common. There would be smiles , laughter and maybe a few beers and definetly a great time.

We should all vote to see who should room together.

My girlfriend and I will be there from friday afternoon until monday or tuesday. I'll be staying at the same motel as Rainer, so maybe we can all meet up and talk hybrids or something. LOL. Just kidding. See you there......can't wait. Like kids in a candy store.

elaphopeltishow Aug 01, 2004 03:20 PM

but will your hotel be locality pure? lol

daveb Aug 01, 2004 06:56 PM

well, unless they put it on a flat bed trailer and roll around its easy to confirm its locality. bring a gps unit so we can track the hotel out in the field, maybe even find it again at a later date.

Some sellers accept the plastic some do not. One of the problems I've heard of in the past is that the ATM's ran out of $$. I think Wayne has added more this year. I hope so.

Nokturnel Tom Aug 01, 2004 08:01 PM

I have a room for friday and saturday night. I leave Texas on thursday night for the helldrive but seeing I will consume gallons of coffee on the drive I will be ready for a few cold ones when I arrive. I will need some encouragement to stick with colubrids, as I may go for some of those nifty Ball Python morphs. My cell [which always seems to cut me off after 2 seconds of talking!] 512 680 6662 Tom

RichH Aug 02, 2004 07:36 AM

heading toward BPs as well. Only colubrids this season will be those Tri-Color hognose I've been looking into.

We'll be there early Friday. Give a call when you arrive.

Rich

BILLY Aug 04, 2004 08:27 PM

Hey Tom......

Just stick with colubrids, mostly pits though!!!!! LOL!

If you will be there, we will most likely run into each other. We can talk metal and snakes!!!!!!

Take care!

Nokturnel Tom Aug 01, 2004 09:56 PM

I thought you'd be there Mark. I will stop by for sure. Tom Stevens

crimsonking Aug 01, 2004 11:05 PM

Looking forward to meeting you Tom.

Sean Aug 01, 2004 10:20 PM

Mark, Pierson and I are planning to make it. I'll come by to finally meet you in person.

crimsonking Aug 01, 2004 11:04 PM

Great. Since I'll have only about 25% of normal years, I'll be able to bs a lot more. Only thing is, that also leaves too much time to wander around and SPEND!

metalpest Aug 01, 2004 11:33 PM

393?!?!?! How many vendors will be at the show?

Ive never been, how big is this show? Ive heard that the Hamburg show is one of the largest, is Daytona bigger?

crimsonking Aug 02, 2004 09:57 PM

I have been told that the Daytona show is the largest. I think there's over 600 tables now. Of course, some vendors have multiple tables.
:Mark

RichH Aug 02, 2004 07:31 AM

Mark, will do. Glad to see some table numbers in this post as well so to know where to go. We rarely spend anytime at the actual show as for the MOST part all we do is pick up herps prepaid for and head to specific tables we already have listed. To crowded for me once they open up those doors for a casual browse. Thats when we head to the beach and hotel. We'll be sure to stop by and say hello.

foxturtle Aug 02, 2004 07:22 PM

Friday (set up day) is the best.

Sat if you are looking for something nice or hard to get (rare). All the nice(new)stuff will be sold on sat. On sunday you will definetly get the better deals. Vendors will really cut some great deals so they don't have to go home with the snakes.
What are you looking for and I can give a better answer?

LloydHeilbrunn Aug 02, 2004 09:48 PM

Don't know yet,I'm relapsed back to newbie status after 25 years away . But nothing too highend because of that. Sounds like the Sunday deals might be best for me.

But I definately am leaning toward a Thayeri or other non-native king, and maybe a pinesnake.

I agree with BlueRosy, if you're looking for an animal that's a hot commodity, there may not be many left on Sunday. If you're looking for something a little more common, then You can probably get a better deal on Sunday, as many vendors don't want to make a long trip home with a lot of leftover animals.
