Finding a Boomslang in Canada

Reticulatus Aug 01, 2004 10:07 AM

Hey Guys,

I have worked with hots for awhile now (never keeeping them in personal collection though). Well lately I've been having an urge to start collecting hots, now that my python, boa and monitor breeding investments are set up and getting ready to breed. But anyways I've always wanted to keep a boomslang, I love the look of them, plus I've heard they are a fairly good hot to start off with. So anyways does anyone know anyone who may breed them in Canada or a breeder that with ship to canada?

Thanx In advance
Justin Morash

I don't doubt your experience, and a boomslang might very well suit you, but I seriously doubt anyone has recommended them as a good first hot. For one, they have an incredibly potent venom that has resulted in fatalities, and two, they require a monovalent antivenom, which from what I've heard, can be problematic to obtain, even with import permits.
