ive got a turtle tank, and in there is a water dragon. Every year they wood splits. Does anyone know anyway to stop the wood from cracking?
is it because it is dring out? or constently being wet and the dry?

Wood expands and contracts as the humidity goes up and down. This is what is causing your wood to crack. There are a couple of things you can do to try to improve things. First, when you get a new piece of wood make sure it is dry. Keep it in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Drying it slowly help to keep it from cracking. Then when you start using the piece of wood try to keep it in a place that stays at a constant humidity. One more thing, some types of wood split easier than others do. I hope I have helped.
