hey, i keep one eastern water dragon ( sounds kind of lonely) hehe

when i get a job ( i hope these holidays) i want to get a frog. But I'll think about that later.

what herps do you keep?

I have a baby blue tongue. I love her to death.
Frogs are cool. I wouldn't know how to keep one though. My kids and I keep tadpoles and let them loose when they turn into frogs. I found out recently that you're not supposed to do that! Take any kind of tadpole or frog from the wild that is. NPWS don't like it. Good grief, catching tadpoles is part of growing up...

yeah, we have similar law down here too. i found a frog in our back yard and put it in the pond... dad said i shouldent have done that
heheh

good if the law was only inplace for native species and says attack and kill all weed species.... but it doesnt hehehe

im not sure about a frog. ive got to wait and get a job and move out of home. but its hard to juggle uni, study and sleep ( im not a slacker im at uni 27 hours a week and spend about 20 -25 hours a week travaling to uni and back). by the time the weekend comes i got 2000 words of labs to do and study ( my memory is realy bad so i gotta study hard).

i would love to work every sunday/saterday morning but considering that i was almost impossable for me to get a job when i could have worked 24/7 i dont think ill have much chance getting one when i have realy limited hours ( but i want that frog! ... there for need that job! hehehe)

What kind of frog do you want?
A friend gave me 3 marsh frogs last week, but I only kept them long enough to show my daughter's class then released them into the local creek.
What r u studying at uni? I am studying teaching (have a BA.)

I'm not sure what frog. Something that is local so I don't have to spend a lot of money on heating. I also would like to get to know local animals and stuff insted of learning about all these foreign animals.

I'm studing ecology and sustainability. I want to study ecology, but I'm not sure what ecology. Everyone wants to do marien ecology , but i want to do grassland ecology! hehe

What are you learning to teach? I would like to do that but i have no patients. If a student said " i dont understand" i would say " how can you not understand!!!!" hehehehe maybe a bit over the top.

(oh i got a cool book today. Its called "the day before yesterday". Its about a lot of stuff but mainly about human evolution. I like these two quotes. (before this quote the auther is talking about how politics and people only look 30 years ahead when we should be looking 200 years or more ahead, and how we talk about acient civilizations like egypt and Assyrians. Anways the quote(s) go like this " I want to tell the history of human beings beginning at the beginning, which in truth ws around 5 million years ago." and " The past 2,000 years of conventional history are effectively the present. The past 40,000 years , when our own species truly got into its stride in recognisably modern form, is only yesterday. The 5 million years that are the main focus of this book are..." the day before yesterday". I love that hehe)

Yes, I know what you mean. I remember reading a quote that if the age of the Earth from its birth till present was viewed as being an hour long, humans only feature in the last couple of seconds. Puts things into persepctive! I agree it's very important to look as far ahead as possible when thinking about ecology, conservation and sustainability of the earth's resources. Of course, the further you look ahead, the harder it is to predict! But that shouldn't stop us trying. I'm training to be a primary teacher. I reckon it's impt for kids to be able to see micro AND macro environmental issues, and to learn where they fit in and how they can make a difference. That's if we leave them enough of the environment to ponder on in the future! Good luck with your studies (and sorry for sidetracking from herps a little...)
