Heating Vision cages

trapdoor Aug 01, 2004 07:44 PM

Has anybody any idea of a good way to heat most vision cages? It seems to me that it might not work so well on a stack of visions to run heat tape under the rear of each cage since there is usually a cutaway for the screen on the cage below it leaving nothing for the heat tape to rest on. Is it just a matter of running heat tape across the front of the enclosure?

Thanks in advance for any input!

I use heating pads - the generic kind you can get at pharmacies, Walmart, etc. Just lay them out underneath one side of the cage, and use thermometers inside the cage to set it at the proper level to get optimal temperatures. Most pads have a protective covering; keep it on, so as to minimize any chance of warping the cage. The pads are thin enough that you can still stack the cages.
