Jasper Co., South Carolina. My all-time favorite pic !

Collected on Apr. 1972 near Okeetee in the mouth of a stump hole in a recently burned out Quail field . Photo by John MacGregor.
This is the pic that got me liking Kingsnakes back when I was 11 years old. It was originally published in the Audobon Field Guide Retiles and Amphibians of the U.S.A .

Thanks for all the great eastern kingsnake photos! Of course I'm partial anyway.

Which get the biggest: males or females?

Thanks.

I would say males. Ive never seen a female over 5' . Maybe that has to do with egg production though. I know I had a pair of Brooksi siblings that I rasied to 4 years old and they ate at the same time and the same amount from hatchling size and the male was 6" longer .
