Yeah it's normal. I had a suggestion from a breeder that I got two of my leos from and this is what he does:
Every morning he drops mealies into a little dish and the leos come by and grab what they want. Then once or twice a week, he drops crickets in along with the mealies for a balanced diet. Apparently he must be doing something right, because he's bred some wonderful leos. What I do is feed them twice a day, but I remove the hides. I do this for two reasons: the first being so that I can make sure that they're eating, and number two is because it's hilarious to see them eat!
I spray the sides of my baby AFT gecko cages because they like to lick the water off the sides of the tank. As long as your leo is drinking, you should be ok. If the stools begin to look runny, or have chunks of what they eat in them and they start to look skinny and/or their tail looks smaller, then I'd take it to a vet. Oh...one other thing. Do you have a UVA/UVB bulb on the tank? I know that the UV stuff can get expensive, but I've had two vets tell me that it's a great idea to have them in there...it helps tremendously. UVA stimulates hunger in herps...so try that. Zoomed makes a daylight bulb that gives off UVA...and it's an incandescent light...so try that. Good luck
