Here it is, the shining product of 2 mins. planning and 5 mins. work. I think it will work tho, provided I ever run across another snake in this Texas heat. 90 deg. F at 1000pm.

Is the handle wood? Thanks! Brooks
yes sir, it is a 3.00 piece of dowel rod from home depot, the hook part is about . 97 cents., I put a couple of hose bands around the end (.50 cents) to reinforce the end so it would'nt crack when I put the hook in.
I was off today and found 3 snakes, (honestly unsure of what they were) non-venomous) and the hook worked okay. The whole thing cost about 9.00 dollars.
The handle is dowel rod, bought at home depot, it's the same kind of wooden rod that is hanging in most closets and is 36 inches long.

Kerry, i've seen tons of copperheads this year in Rowlett. Mostly on the bike trails of Rowlett Creek Park. Try there or at the North Side of Lake Grapevine. I've only seen a few species of snakes this year. Its been quite dissapointing.
So far this year-(all at rcp except one copperhead at Arbor Hills in Plano)
1. black necked garter snake
2. rough greens
3. copperheads
4. unknown watersnake
