I recently purchased some "bullfrog" tadpoles from Carolina Biological Supply with the intent of eventually putting the frogs in a greenhouse setup. Of the 6, only 3 appear to be actual bullfrog tadpoles. The other 3 are only about 3/4 of an inch from snout to tail end and spend the entire time on the surface of the water. All 3 have hindlimb buds, but one of them is thinner than the other 2 and also has fully developed forelimbs. Am I wrong in assuming this may be a deformity? I realize it could have been injured but it looks more like they simply failed to develop and isolated it in case it may be caused by parasitic infection. Has anyone else experienced this?
