Does anyone eles have problems with pacmans being extremly clumsy???

lisa_cristin Aug 02, 2004 04:29 AM

Lately my pacman has been trying to catch crickets. He has been extremly unsuccessful using this method. I wish he would just sit and wait for them to cross his path. Tonight while he was chasing a cricket he managed to flip himself onto his back, I had to put him right side up. I'm just worried that he will do this when I'm not around, I beleive they can die from this can't they? He flipped over his water dish which sticks out only about 1/4" from his substrate.

i put the crix in freezer for couple of minutes, this slows them down enough for me to feed my pacman them with tongs :D

got to be the easiest way to feed em ! i use tongs to feed him/her everything , cuts down on substrate consumed when the miss

Where is the best place to get tongs, cooking stores? I have yet to see any in the pet stores here. I have a pair of plastic ones, unfortunately they are too short and my hand is too close to my pacman.

Petco & Petsmart both sell Zoomed feeding tongs for about $3. Try these stores online if your locals don't have them, or ask your locals to order them.

chopsticks make good feeding tools

I went to the local reptile show and purchased several 8 inch tweezers that I use to feed anything that I need to hand feed.
These are better than the tongs and are stainless steel so they survive better than the plastic ones.
You can get them from Big Apple Herp and the Bean Farm pretty inexpensively.
I prefer the metal ones as unlike the plastic ones they can be soaked in a disinfectant without any concerns of the plastic absorbing any of the disinfectant.
