T-Rex UVHeat Mercury Bulbs

michaelb Aug 02, 2004 07:22 AM

Can anyone confirm or refute the rumor that T-rex is discontinuing their mercury-vapor flood lamps, and going solely with spot lamps?

My iguanas improved dramatically almost overnight (more active, bigger appetite, better color, etc. ) after switching them over to 160-watt floods from UVB fluorescents and heaters. I'm concerned that the spot lamps focus the UVB and heat too much in a small area, and don't distribute it enough.

Zoo-med and T-rex bulbs are 100% identical!
Same internal and external parts, and identical output. Buy what is available or cheapest! I have HIGH UVB demand collareds and I have great luck with Zoomed!
