I got this message from a relative of mine in Colorado, ( he does pest control work). Since he knows I have 9 blue tongue skinks at home, he incorrectly assumed I would have an answer to his question. Does anyone know what he should do with these eggs?
Greg, I got a call today to pick up some eggs that a guy doing some heavy excavating work dug up. He broke one open and said it was almost fully developed and looked like possibly a snapping turtle.
He covered them up in moist soil and I've got them now. I've got them in about 5 inches of soil but I was concerned that now that they have been rolled over, they may not hatch. The eggs are still nice and soft and rubbery and you can see on one side of each of them what looks like a little bit of yoke sack inside. Do you know what position the eggs should be sitting in? Yoke sack up, down? I'm lost and can't find any info other then to not rotate them after they have been laid. Well I knew that but what about after they've been rolled? Help!
