has anyone heard of a ornate three toed?

Some guy I am talking too says he has ornate three toed turtles for sale I thought ornates and three toed box turtles were different from each other could someone tell me about this.Thanks Brandon

I am assuming he means he has turtles who one parent was an ornate and the other parent a Three-toed. It is not uncommon for them to interbred in captivity. They are a natural intergrade in the wild sometimes. If he means he has full ornates with three hind toes, that is not very common but I think not impossible either. Who knows what the turtle's lineage might be a few generations back?
