finicky coastal

coupedeville59 Aug 02, 2004 09:45 PM

My carpet has been really finicky ever since I switched him to rats, he's only eaten like three times and it's about a month in between, it's frustrating, when he fed on mice he ate 'em like crazy. Tonight he went and started to eat but let go and gave up. ANy suggestions? His temps are still ok, I'll double check though to be safe. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

Lucky

Frozen or live? My coastal does the same thing it takes him 45 minutes to eat a rat just because he knows he didn't kill it when i give him fresh killed he eats it in about 10 or so minutes.

he eats frozen thawed, thing is he ate frozen thawed mice and never thought twice about eating them, it was pretty much right away, this has all just happened after I switched to rats

Just give him a Knocked out Live rat or a Fresh killed then slowly move him into the frozen rats. As a last result use a live one, Make sure there not huge rats either irregardless of the size of the snake if its use to eating 8 mice give it 4 small rats.
