Once they morph and have all four legs you won't have to worry about feeding them until their tails are completely absorbed. They won't eat anything until then. Once that happens then you can feed them pinhead crickets and fruit flies.

Hello! I read your question rearding the tadpoles and I really need help...Although we have had a bull frog for over two years I was lucky to acquire two grey treefrogs three days ago thanks to my sons. When I checked on them the next norning I had lots of little tadpoles in the water dish. I immediatly took them out and they are moving slighty now. I want to make sure I do everything right and it looks like you asked one of my questions however I have read my field guide and my frog books and they are not very specific on caring for these little guys from beggining to end. ANY help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Will tree frogs eat maggots? I have been trapping fruit flies to feed my new tiny frogs. I put a peice of banana in an empty baby food jar & leaving it on the counter. When the fruit flies collect to eat the banana I simply put the cap on the jar & trap the flies. No where around here sells the wingless fruit flies. Is there an easier way to collect food for these tiny frogs? They are smaller than a dime. Any help would be appreciated.
The reptile depot on peachtree mite have them.
I havent tried maggets but pinheads work fine
Laurah on the toad forum posted a really neat idea for catching small bugs, her post explains how to make a pillowcase net. I'll try to post a link but in case I can't figure it out go to the toad forum and look for the post on June 28th.
