off topic...sexing mantids

how do you tell the boys from the girls?...i have about a dozen left and i want to put some in an outdoor screen cage (65 gallon reptarium) and try to make some babies....i notice some of them seem to be more heavily bodied and grow faster; are these the females??

You're correct. The female's are larger and fatter. Female Mantis . I wouldn't suggest putting them all in the cage together. I'm sure you've noticed they're great sense of sight. They'll see the others and try to eat them for a snack. If you want more info on the best way to mate them, just ask!
