New BRB pictures

miki00 Aug 03, 2004 04:04 PM

Here are some pictures of my BRB and it's enclosure. Also, i have a question, does any of your BRB's dig under the substrate and stay there? Mine does. I mist the cage every day 3 times.

Miki,
Your photos did not appear. Perhaps photobucket.com has them password protected? If you would like you can email them to me and I will post them for you. BRBs are secretive and nocturnal. It is normal for them to hide under the substrate during the day. Rather than misting so often you can just pour water right on the substrate once every couple of days.

Thanks Jeff! I already checked and there was an error on the link, so i fixed it. I hope you like the pics.

The first time i did pur water onto the substrate because it was dry, and there's still a bit of water. Im gonna keep misting the cage, but now less. Just when the substrate is dry. The climate here is HOT so, the water evaporates quickly, eventhough i have 2/3 of the screen top covered with acrlylic.

under their cypress mulch. I can see your pic (don't know if you already fixed it). I think if you take that plate out from under your hide it will more likely be used. Your setup seems to be free satnding, not against a wall. With that much enposure your snake doesn't really have a place to effectively hide. I live in Texas and it is hot here too. 100 today. I also use the not so user freindly for brb glass tank. I actually have Lizard Lounges that have vent holes that can be capped and a solid glass top that also has holes with caps. With cypress mulch and all but 3 of the caps closed I never mist mine in the summer. The humidity stays above 76 until the next week when I clean again. If I were you, I'd consider painting the outside of at least 2 of the sides.

Yeah, i took the bowl out. I left it there cause last time she pooped inside it.
I'll consider painting or coverin 2 sides of the cage!
Thanks!
