Wow, it's been a while

Joe Aug 03, 2004 04:35 PM

Hey everybody, just thought I'd pop in and say hello and see how everything is going.

ECB: sorry to hear about your dragons, sounds like you are having a rough time with them! I hope Tripod hasn't given you too many problems.

Marcia: Nice to see the armata's in a few of the pictures. I see Ingo is also having trouble seeing if that is really a male or not. They left some eggs in the tank when they were with me a couple times, but never fertile I don't think. Congrats on the F2's, thats great news!

As for my dragons, they are still doing well...getting a little more neglected than I would hope, but I am so busy now that its getting hard. I have been contemplating finding them a new home if I must. I haven't gotten anymore eggs from anybody in there, but they are all eating regularly and showing good color.

Hopefully I'll be dropping in a little more here soon, so you can reply on here if you want, or email me at joebradbury@comcast.net

good to hear from everyone,
Joe

Hello Joe
what a day foryou to Pop in

I just dropped Tripod at the Vet;
His Dependant foot has gotten swollen and fixed (the lump is HARD and nothing is flexable in any of the joints) and the Muscles above it in the Calf area are imaciated, gone
his other legs are not half that skinny. I got him to eat some Emeraide dipped Pinkies, but I did have to put them in his angry open mouth.
So we are going to try to Amputate the leg today. He will not eat unless the food is right in his face, or directly below him on the ground. He is able to Climb, but he drags his leg behind him, and flinches if you touch it, but he does settle down when I apply the warm cotton ball.

Other than that life is all Boring from the outside and exciting from the inside when it comes to my Home, family, and life

TTYL

So what is Everaide? Does that have something to do with prepping him for the amputation?

I am so sorry you are having to do this but I guess it has been expected for some time. He has really done well for having broken it.

Do let us know how it goes. I will be leaving on vacation for 4 days with my stepsons, their wives and our new granddaughter Emily Rose so I won't be around a computer to check my email until Monday. That is going to be hard for me!

So, hope all goes well. I'll be thinking about you.

The vet gave me some Emeraide and told me it is more than a vitamin suppliment, but a food boster
it seemes to have Aminiacids, and vitamins, and some fat soluable vitamins in there too.
its a pale green powder

it sticks to food REALLY well

Sorry to hear tripod is giving you such a fuss. He's always been a calm dragon though, so maybe after the leg is off he will be an angel one could hope!

Glad to hear from you and I hope everything goes well with tripod!

He had surgery this moning (about 8 am) and he is already awake (its 1:30 EST here)and climbed up on his little climbing Branch
They would like me to come pick him up tonight
so i have to go get a tank to hold him in for a few days
I am gonna be SO broke

the last surgery was over $100, so this one I am SURE will be more. but the Vet is SO cool, I am hopeful it will not be too much.

I was wondering when the last eggs were from these two. I will say that the brown, sometimes green one is not as mean as the always green one. She is also much thinner than the green one. They both eat the same but she is just not as big around over all. The green one hisses and snaps all the time. He/she lost one horn when I was weighing them for meds and I just noticed this week that the other horn is turned sideways so I am expecting it to be gone soon. I keep spraying them but I have a hunch it is broken because that one is so active. The darker one is more calm and mostly stays in the same area. So, regardless of gender and breeding they have given me opportunity to observe behavior. They are really beautiful but what stinkers!

So, busy life. How is it going with school? I would think you'd be gearing up for fall semester and really be busy now. I know how it is to be too busy to give the animals the attention you feel they need. I finally sold all of my snakes because I couldn't keep up with them, the store, and all that went with caring for the snakes. They don't really take as much time as the MHDs but the rats and mice took more time than everything else put together. So, now it's just the dragons and I do have a house full! I will do a show this fall and then probably one next spring.

So, it's good to hear you're doing well. Glad you popped in!

The only eggs I got from them (and I don't know which one dropped them because I never noticed either of them get lumpy, I just found some dried up eggs one day) was about 2 months for I shipped them to you. Yeah the bright green one has always been the aggressive one. He(
