I recently started mowing our lawn (we have an ancient, backfiring ride-on lawnmower.) Everytime I'm out there, I see a bunch of toads hopping to the side of me. I hope I do not run any of them over; I love to see toads in our garden. But I really think that because the lawnmower is so loud and old, they scatter more than if it were a quiet mufflered lawn tractor. So I urge all of you toad lovers/lawnmowers, go out and buy a circa-1989 jalopy without a muffler; the toads will thank you!
