Is bloating a very bad sign?

make_urself Jun 23, 2003 11:08 AM

My boa tends to bloat often after eating. Not normally though. He tends to stay filled with what feels like a big pocket of air for about two weeks after he eats. When he deficates he releaves the pressure, but I'm hoping its not parasites or anything thats causing his "inflating" situation. Reply with any info and tips.

as the food digests, gases are released and this causes
the boa to swell up, usually about 2 days after eating.
no worries, it's normal

I was so worried it was parasites because he has had a case or two of regurgitation, and im gonna take him to the reptile vet next week when she comes in. I was going crazy trying to find info. I had the boa witha burm recently and i found that to be a terrible idea so im splitting them today and having them both checked. Thanks again for the reply.
