GaboonViper3 Aug 03, 2004 08:06 PM

My beardie has not using its back legs. they just kind of hang there... it has not taken any falls latley and has not been physicly hurt in any way. Could this be a sign of metabolic bone disease?

thank you,
MATT

It's more of a sign of impaction. What are you feeding it (and how large is the prey), and what is the substrate? Give it a long soak in warm water and maybe feed it a couple drops of mineral oil. It needs to go poop, impaction can be very fatal if not cleared. You also need to address whatever caused it in the first place, that's why the couple questions for ya.

I did an article on impactions, symptoms, how to get them moved out and recover info (depending on the type impaction, full recovery can take several week)

If you want to read it, the link is below that also have some xray pictures that explains why they become paralyzed and of some dragons that had impactions and recovered
