I have heard of high-pressure sodium bulbs being used with heliophilic lizards. I believe it provides a high degree of visible light and is thought to stimulate activity.

However, I'm sure HPS bulbs vary in the thickness and type of glass used for the bulb exterior. This will, in part, determine the degree to which potentially harmful rays are kept away from you and your lizard(s). Don't know how to answer that one.
