two questions...

First and foremost, is it normal for the inside of a panther's mouth to be GREEN? Also, will chams drink from running water, i.e. a waterfall?

Don't know anything about panthers, but cham's won't drink standing water, their water must be moving somehow, i.e. waterfall, mister... but, becareful with waterfalls they need to be cleaned daily or they will/can grow bacteria which, of corse, is not good for them. You can use a very mild soap or vinegar to clean it with and rinse well with hot water and let air dry before using again.

Good luck!

As for the inside of the mouth being green... i dunno i have a jacksons and his mouth isnt green inside. As for drinking from waterfalls.. thats good for humidity thats about it. Chams are dew lappers meaning they lick moisture off of leaves etc.

thanks. its his second set up... i first had him in a 35 gal hex. He seems to like this set up way more. Am curretnly converting an old dresser for an enclosure in jacuzzi rom next to a window. The mister is made by Habba Mist . I have heard of better misting systems but I saw this one in a magazine ad and found one store locally that carried it. It unfortunatley doesnt spray a fine mist which would be prefered. But it does the job of keeping the humidity constant and giving my cham drinking water. it has a timer and spray duration and has a built in water holding tank. Usually gets refilled every 2 days depending on how long and frequently i have it set. Times are : once an hour , every 3 hours, every 6 hours, and every 12 hours. Duration is 15 sec, 30 sec, 45 sec, 1 minute. I have it set everyhour for 15 sec. I ended up usuing an aquarium air line with a check valve instead of the line that came with it. It can also run on batteries. it has 4 suction cups and 2 hooks on top. My model has 2 misting nozzles. Hope thats what ya wanted to know

I just use an old hand pump i got at Lowe's. It is called the rose and garden sprayer. I drilled a hole on top of the cage and stuck the nozel in the hole and pump away. It keeps my cham watered and my ficus. She loves to take a shower in the mornings. She will climb right up underneath it and sit there sometimes, other times she runs from it, go figure? I only water once a day though, first thing in the morning even before I turn her lights on. I read somewhere, probably here, that watering them before the ligths are on simulates morning dew. Should I be watering more? MAN! I am glad that the information on human kids is easier than on chameleons

I would say the mouth being green is indeed normal...as long as it isn't swollen or have any sort of unusual discharge. All my panthers mouths range in color to a almost lime green to yellow to a off white. I think each one's mouth is unique in color.

As far as the waterfall goes...I'm not sure if they would or not. Only one way to find out, try it and see if he drinks from it or not. Though I do agree that it would need to be changed daily and washed very often, so it might not even be worth it for the amount of work trying to keep it clean.

A few chams drink from a dish once they learn about it but don't count on it. They often do this once they've been sprayed and start drinking anyway. Or, if they are desperate for water, wander the cage and sort of stumble on the dish. I had a F. verrucosus who would lick water cupped in my hand if I "primed" him by spraying first. Keeping a waterfall or bubbler bowl clean is too much hassle IMO. You need to spray for humidity, rinsing plants, and to allow the cham to clean it eyes anyway, so misting works for all.
