I am considering keeping either American Alligators or a species of Camian in the future. I was curious what they weekly cost to feed and Alligator or Camian would be. If any of you could share how much you spend a week on a single animal, I would be very grateful. This would help me plan for the future.

Should have no bearing on whether or not you are going to attain one of these animals. Compared to the cost of the filtration and caging, as the animal gets older in age, and larger in size. Litteraly peanuts compared to the cost of filters, lighting etc. You might be looking at $3 a week in the beggining, and the price will climb higher as the gator/croc grows.

How much would you say it costs to feed an ADULT American Alligator or Camian per week?

The food cost is going to be relatively small compared to vet care and housing. Chances are, a whole adult chicken or two per week would be adequate food for an adult. Building housing with appropriate heating and water treatment for a large gator is going to cost much more. In some areas, you'll practically have to build a small greenhouse to produce an environment conducive to maintaining a reptile's health. Veterinary care (if you can find it for a large reptile) is expensive.

Thanks for the help. If you lived in Texas where Alligators are naturally found, would you just need to include a water pump and filter and not need the "alligator greenhouse"? Thanks a lot, and to anyone else to posts their comments.
