hello everyone. i'm mainly a ball python person but was thinking of getting a pair of burms. now i've heard rumores about there being pattern markers to distinguish burms that are het for albino. is this true or like i said before, just a rumor. if it is true may somebody let me know what to look for or if you have a pic that shows this supposed marker. i'm working on understanding genetics and would like to learn as much as i can. thank you in advance...

you can never tell a het. Its all in the genes and you need to know the backround. I wouldnt trust anyone with het burms, try bobclarks websight or NERD's.

I only kinda agree with you......Usually with some hets there is a diferent pattern..for example..i can usually tell if a burm het for granite is actually a het..the patter is almost granite in a way..but i wouldnt fully 100% trust that theory. But i would never trust any random person with hets..casue you never know..make sure they even send you a burm..lol...i know people who once ordered a super tiger retic...and ended up gettin a boa..so yea

i've heard from several people that some burms do show signs of being hets, which is why i asked.as for trusting someone with hets, well there's a local reptile shop near my home and i know they've produced albino burms from albino x albino. so if i ever see their girl pregnant again i know they'll be hets if they put her with a normal male cause she's an albino. that would be obvious that the babies are hets. but going back, i went to a whole seller and he had dozens of baby burms and a few had unique looking patterns (yes they're all ch). so you never know who the father was. so i'm just trying to find truth to the rumors so that i can take a closer look next time. but some do have great color and pattern and some did seem to look quite dark and they're not in shed either.
