The dinosaur in Jurassic Park was called Dilophosaurus. It was actually quite a large animal, at least 10 feet long if I remember, and we don't know if they had a frill. That was sort of a poetic license on the part of the movie makers. All we know from the bones is that they had two bony crests on their head. The venom spitting was also a 'guess'... but I've seen a skeleton and I don't think they needed it! They looked scary! I think it stemmed from the theory that they couldn't kill their own prey because their crests were too fragile... but I still don't buy it.
So they only looked like frilled lizards in the movie, but in reality were pretty different and could have killed you through brute force alone, is my point.
(the most inaccurate depiction in the book, IMO, if you don't count the tree dwelling Hysilophodonts. Of course, I'm not a Dino-ologist. I just have lots of opinions.)
