Topic says it all pretty much. I want to get another gecko ((btw, does it have to be a leo, or can I get another kind that would get along with her?)) but I'm not sure how she would react to sharing her home.. help?

First off, don't mix species. If you want another gecko, get another leo. Mixing species seems okay at first but its not the best thing for them. Make sure the new gecko is a female (unless you are willing to deal with breeding) and quarantine it for at least a month before you put it in the tank with your current leo. Female leos generally are very tolerant of eachother. Make sure your tank is big enough (a 20gal long should be the minimum for 2 geckos) and there are plenty of hides for each of them. Also put two food dishes in two different parts of the tank to prevent one from bullying the other out of feeding space.

1:1 leos...soon to be 1:5!!!
You can only put in another leopard gecko. Territoriality can be a problem, I tried to put in another female with one of my females once, cause she had a 20 gallon all to herself, and she nipped and bit at her, so I removed the gecko I was trying to put in there with her. It can help if you remove the original gecko, take out and thoroughly clean and sterilize everything in the enclosure including tank, hides substrate, water dishes, food dishes, etc (this is a good idea to do periodically anyway), and move the cage furniture and hides around a bit, then put them both in together- that way it seems morte like a new space to the original gecko, and you shouldn't have as many territoriality problems, because it is "new" to her too.
You should quarantine any new leo for three months while monitoring for potential illness/parasites.
