WD substrate

I started using Repti-bark a couple of months back, but I learned that it didn't absorb water very well, and that it molded easily. I then switched to coconut fiber for absorbtion, and that worked wonderfully, until I figured out a way to keep the humidity up. Is there any substrate out there that's absorbant, not messy and doesn't mold? What kind of substrates do you guys use?

Indoor/Outdoor carpeting worked the best for me.
