pernads Aug 04, 2004 09:02 PM

I just got here, shes about 4 months old, and i got her at a respectable pet store in Buffalo. Ive had her home for 48 hours, and everything in her cage is perfect. 74-88, water, 2 hides and a humidity box. shes has eaten a lot a=lready, but here head shakes when she stands up. She bit me for the first time just now, and here gular region is moving really fast. Is everything ok here????

Ill take a picture when she comes out.

Thanks,
Greg

Here is a picture. She seems perfectly healthy, but the shaking worries me. She is real fast and tempered. I hope she grows out of that.

Shakiness can be a sign of calcium deficiency, especialy in growing babies. Was her food supplemented at the store? So you supplement it now? If you do, try dusting it with calcium more often. If the problem persists, and especially if it gets worse, contact your local herp vet. Some other signs to look for are soft/rubbery jaw and soft or bent limbs. Hopefully its nuthing serius, good luck!

BTW she's beautiful!

Im pretty sure they supplement, but only with calcium. I give my geckos the vitamin once a week as well. I will up her cal intake and hope that solves the problem. Thanks for the response.

she is a beauty.you should dust her food every day until she is
almost grown.I also would change her bedding, she could swallow the straw you have her on,try paper towels or tile.I keep mine on repti carpet but am soon switching over to tile,I will probably use sand once they are adults.
