Can someone please tell me what happened to the black phase thayeri! I have been "out" of snakes for about 8 yrs. and remember some breeders of thayeri that I knew who would get a few black thayeri from a clutch of containing mostly leonis and milksnake phase babies. Am I losing my mind at 33 or do they really exist???????

They exist, and pop up for sale from time to time. I don't think many people selectively breed for them, because there are other snakes (black kings, pines, milks) out there that are more impressive black animals, and the color variations of thayeri are what's so cool about them!
