Lobster roach breeding in my home???

psylynt Aug 05, 2004 02:45 PM

Was wondering if anyone ever had problems w/ escape roaches & them breeding your apt./house? will lobster roaches breed like typical house roaches (in U.S.)? (my live in girlfriend is very worried about this)

I've done some reading, from what it seems roaches would be a great choice for my crested geckos. Just worried about escape roaches breeding. Any help/advice/comments appreciated.

I started breeding roaches in a one bedroom apartment and bred them by the thousands. I did have a few escapes every now and then, mostly due to my own clumsiness. The ones that did escape were usually found dead in my hallway a few days later. I think it really depends on your locality and temperature and humidity of where you live. I have not had any problems with roaches living outside of where I breed them and I have never read of anyone else experiencing this type of problem myself. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, just that I haven't had an issue with it or heard of anyone else that has.
