First time breeding

Underachiever Aug 05, 2004 03:27 PM

I plan to breed out my Nelsons and it will be my fisrt time breeding anything other than a dog or cat. How big should my female and male be before I try to mate them?

For me, I will wait for my female to get at least 250 gram, and at least 2 winters age. Male should be at least 2 winters age also, but can breed less than 250 gram. You also have to make sure your female has good body weight, and in very healthy condition. Usually a adult female nelson can take a good size adult mice every 5 days. Thanks. Eric
