Gutload?

kurpak Aug 05, 2004 03:42 PM

Anyone know of a good commercially available cricket
gutload? I need something that's not fortified with
vitamins and D3, preferably organic whole food ingredients.
I know there was a place that offered a great gutload, (montane shade) but they only sell to zoos and pros now? How could they
be turning down all our money?
I've tried the cricketfood.com brand, but they put D3 in it.
thanks,
kp

I don't have a cham yet, but I keep several other herps. I gut load my mealworms, superworms, and crickets on flake fish food (they have lots of different kinds made from pure organic ingredients). It's nutritious and they all love it. I also use the Jurassipets watering gel, got some vitamin c and they don't drown. You can use tons of different gutload methods, I'm sure you'll hear a lot of other options from the good folks here, this is just easiest for me.

This is Ronnie from CricketFood.com. We do not add any vitamin supplements or D3 to our gutloads. Our ingredients for the cricket food and worm bedding include various grains, dried vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, acidophilus, bee pollen, and calcium carbonate, totalling over 30 ingredients in all. Most of these are human grade food items, although not organic. If you have any questions about our products please feel free to email me at sales@cricketfood.com

Hi Ronnie,
I remember looking at the cricket gutload package (i have
some at home) and seeing vit D3 as part of the ingredients. I could be wrong tho sorry for the mixup if it's not in there. I've got a montane cham that I was worried about over supplementing.
