Question - Chameleon Tails

chamellio Aug 05, 2004 04:50 PM

i noticed yesterday one of my veileds had damaged the top part of his tail and i treated it and everything seems to be fine with him, not sure how he did it but i changed his whole tank set up when i noticed, my question is do they ever re grow like other lizards?

i've heard conflicting reports on if they do/dont so if anyone can give me good solid info on the subject that would be great thanks!

Nope. As far as I know they do not. Luna lost b/t 1/3-1/2 of her tail as a hatchling. She still uses it to hang on when she can. Obviously, the length determines how much she can wrap but she has no problem.

check out this pic of her. You can see her back fook and tail are all that are holding her as she sways in the breeze! LOL!
just hangin' around
