hi i have a 50 w zoo med basking spot lamp and a undertank heater i'll be using a 30 gallon tank, should i use a 75 watt or say with the 50 w and also at night should i only use the heating pad?

Try the 50 first, see what temp it brings the cage up to. Id be afraid that the 70 and the heater would be too much, especially at this time of the year. Trial and error is the best way to learn, preferably before you put the snakes in there. Also, yes, you can keep 2 balls together. Some ppl think its best to keep them separate, so I guess it varies. Mine are sibling hatchlings though and seem to do wonderful together.
