Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Bill, and I've been keeping fish for 5 years, but I just started to get into herps 3 years ago. I've had African Clawed Frogs for 3 years, and they were my first frog sp. in my collection. I just started keeping different frog and toad sp. recently, and I love all types of them. My occupation is raising feeder rodents for herp keepers, and so far, I've made a pretty good life for myself! Nice to know you, and I'm sure you'll like it here!

Heather here... I'm in Tampa FL. I used to have fish and was down to two blue berry tetra when I saw some Leopard tadpoles at the shop I would get my fish supplies at. It all started from there. I raised 3 leo tads in to happy healthy frogs. It became so much fun that I picked up 2 Christmas toads and I am now raising Red Eyed tree frog tads (so far out of 8 tads we now have 2 froglets, two trying to morph, one still a tad and three... passed ) I've only been into herps now for about 4 months.

Hi, my name is Shalena and I'm from Ontario. I have a tomato frog which i've named hermitage. I came here because I've had trouble finding others that own tomato frogs and was hoping to find people. I'd like to learn more about them.

Nice to meet you all.

amazinglyricist Jun 25, 2003 11:15 AM

Well I'd liek to say I've owned a tomato frog, but I haven't. My little brother did though and he didn't take care of it, I tried to step in but my parents are idiots and wouldn't let me, so it died a water bloated death. Oh no don't listen to the person who knows what he's talking about, just go ahead and leave it in gravel and water it'll be fine. And it don't need to eat either, it's stomach just get's filled magically by all teh friggin water that it soaked up. Sorry that's basically what happened, but with me being sarcatic and angry at the same time.

flamingpeach Jun 25, 2003 11:24 PM

That's really sad. My little guy doesn't seem to like the water to much, he prefers burying himself or sitting under a plant all day. He has a sweet personality, and I feel like I learn more about him everyday. He doesn't make to much noise, but lately, when I mist him he makes tiny noises. I'm not sure if they are an attempt to croak or not? According to the pet store, he should be about 4 months old.

I want to learn more about thier behavior, or why he acts the way he does. After he eats, he won't move for about a day, and only seems active on an empty stomach. He loves attempting to climb the plants i have in there for him, he seems to like to sit up high.

I'd be heart broken if anything happened to him.

Hi! I'm Lenny J. I have been keeping frogs for 3 years now. Currently I have two horned frog ( one albino and the other a brown phase) and a pixie frog. The pixie stopped eating for a while but today he accepted a super worm so I feel much relieved.
I'm thinking of getting two more frogs: a Pipa pipa and a red phase horned frog.
