Gravid Bearded Dragon

Jeepchic Aug 05, 2004 11:16 PM

Any help would be greatly appreciated... I have a gravid pastel bearded dragon who seems to be taking her time laying her eggs. I've been able to see them through her belly for about a month now. I don't know if I'm over reacting since she's my first gravid beardie but I'm starting to worry about her. Any help or information would be wonderful. Does anyone know how long she holds her eggs before she lays them? And how long after she lays them until they hatch?? Thank you!
Vicki

Your female bearded dragon looks to be stressed-out & possibly egg-bound in the picture. Suggest to put her in a bucket with about 10-12 inches of moist sand. Give her a day or two with dimly lit conditions to see if she can lay eggs; if not have a vet diagnose her condition. Goodluck

plus, did you give her a proper nesting site? beardies like to lay their eggs in a moist area of sand or vermiculite. When i first breed my beardie she was very agitated until i put the nesting box in (I used a cat littler pan full of damp sand) after that she calmed down and deposited all of her eggs
