Pinkies to baby Pacmen?

ivantheman Aug 05, 2004 11:58 PM

Is it ok to feed a packman frog a pinkie when its about an inch and a half long? The pinkie is smaller than the frog by a good amount. This would be only a one time thing, and probly not make up its entire diet. Therefore, I am NOT asking if it would be the preimium diet for a frog. I am merely asking if it is possible. I dont want a flame-war over mice and their pros/cons.

When offering large prey items like that to the frogs I usually try to offer prey items that are no larger than 1/3 of the frog. These frogs can consume larger prey than that (holding it in thier mouth until enough has been digested to allow for swallowing to be completed) but its easier on the frog if the prey items are smaller.

The major problems with commercially raised rodents is that they are often too high in vitamin A which can be corrected by dusting the back half of the pink.

Hope this helps,

Ed
